Circa 1985, Raymond Kula went to sea aboard the square rigged frigate Buccaneer Queen. The ship berthed at San Pedro, California's Ports O'Call Village and plied the waters of the Channel Islands and Los Angeles Harbor. Ray was no sailor. He was the ship's musician and entertained the passengers and crew with a variety of nautical tunes and shanties, the old shipboard work songs.
The Buccaneer Queen has sailed away to seas unknown and since then Ray and his crew have been performing at private parties, seafood restaurants, yacht clubs and special events in Southern California.
They have entertained the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary at their 2004 National Conference.
They have been on board to promote Disney Studio's Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3 at Disneyland on the red carpet with Johnny Depp and in Hollywood at the El Capitan Theatre.
Kapt. Kula's Pyrat Party Band are available to entertain you, be your event poolside or shipboard.
